UC San Diego’s Dr. Tara Hutchinson will share findings from large-scale seismic and fire testing of a 10-story cold-formed steel structure — and what they mean for the future of high-rise design. Richard McCarthy, former Executive Director of the California Seismic Safety Commission, will discuss how this research can guide updates to the California Building Code.

The event includes a Q&A and networking opportunities for turning this research into actionable policy.
